Official Wells Fargo app for Windows Phone in the works

Note: This is an image of the Wells Fargo logo pinned to the Start screen, not a representation of the app.

Despite having been on the market for more than two years now, the ‘big name’ apps for Windows Phone are still few and far between. Microsoft has so far done a decent job of plugging the most gaping holes, but there are still some must-haves absent from the platform. There’s a particular dearth of mobile banking apps for Windows Phone, but today we’ve learned at least one major bank is finally crafting an app for our favorite mobile OS.

Courtesy of friend of the site and the muscle behind AllPhoneNews, Dominick Battiato, we have a copy of an email from a Wells Fargo customer service rep. In response to an inquiry about a possible Windows Phone app, Ashley C. confirmed that the bank is “already working on this application and plan to make it available in the future”:

Unfortunately there was no elaboration on when we can expect the app to debut in the Windows Phone Store, but at least we know it’s already in the oven. In the meantime, here is an overview of the Wells Fargo mobile apps’ features to set your expectations.

[Thanks Dominick!]
